Gideon’s International allegedly handing out bibles in public school

The Freedom From Religion Foundation has alleged that the Gideons are handing out bibles to fifth graders at Desoto Schools in Mississippi.
The group says it’s unconstitutional, citing public schools should remain neutral towards religion and are asking the district to not allow it.
In response, the School System released this statement:
“We are investigating the matter and the Desoto County School District will make a decision and issue a statement once our attorney has completed the investigation.”
