Ten Commandments going back up in Giles County Schools
For the moment, the ten commandments are returning to Giles County Schools. The school board voted 3-2 in favor of putting the commandments back up. Some think the battle is over.
“This battle, that you have called, have referred to as the Ten Commandments, has been won. There has been victory without chancing this costly legal battle,” School Board member Drema McMahon said.
Unfortunately for Drema McMahon, the battle has not been won. The ACLU and the Freedom from Religion Foundation have stated that they will file lawsuits. This is far from over and will, in the end, cost the county thousands in legal fees.
